When asked, we talk about the books that changed our life. And, when we do, we always refer to the book, and not the writer.

It’s as if the words on those pages have taken on a life of their own.

I think it’s because the words we read don’t come from a writer, but rather comes through them.

Writers merely act as a vessel for those words. The more impactful a story or poem is, the greater the writer’s struggle and the more they endure before bringing it into this world.

In short, writers carry the weight of these words. Whether they change one life or a million, it doesn’t matter. Those words grow inside a writer until they’re ready for this world.

So, let’s cherish those words, and the writers who bravely share them with us. For in their stories, we find pieces of ourselves, and the wisdom to navigate life’s journey.
